Duolingo
Scoring
The Duolingo test is scored between 0 to 160, both overall and for each of the four distinct modules (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking). The Duolingo exam results also include subscores for literacy (the test taker’s ability to read and write), comprehension (the test taker’s ability to read and listen), conversation (the test taker’s ability to listen and speak), and production (the test taker’s ability to write and speak). These subscores are in addition to the main modules. On occasion, certain score criteria on certain subscores are also requested by some institutions.
Test Format
Duolingo’s exam structure is pretty distinctive. The exam lasts for 60 minutes. It poses a variety of question formats to test-takers, including Fill in the Blanks, Correct Word Identification, Essay Writing, and more.& Cue Cards, to name a few. There is no segmentation of the questions into modules like Speaking, Listening, Reading, or Writing. The final scores are reflected in the four main communication modules even if the questions asked do not specifically state which component of communication they are assessing; this is because the questions may simultaneously be testing more than one aspect. All question types are timed because this is a computer test, and you must finish them before the timer runs out.
Exam costs
The cost of the Duolingo test is $49.
